What the new name?
When we launched the company in February 2018 we were called Edified Education. Actually we wanted the company be called just Edified, but someone called Eddy owned the name and the domain. He may have had a different idea from us as to what it means to be edified. Also, most Australians and New Zealanders can barely get to the end of one word (eg arvo, uni, avo), so expecting them to make it to the end of two words seemed unnecessarily aspirational. So, a few months ago we managed to obtain the company name and the domain. All good.
Why the new website?
The original website was built on a shoe string when we were in start up mode. It served us well but it never felt like it really represented who we are as people and how clients said they perceived us. Hopefully we’ve done a better job now that we’ve got some rungs on the board and had some time to reflect on who we are and what we can offer.
Why the new tag line?
We’ve added the tag line “Gain ground quickly” because we feel that what our clients want is rapid progress to a meaningful and measurable result. This line seems to sum it up in an earthy way.
So what’s next?
Well, we’ve grown a lot this year. We started as a core team of three people, as of today we are five. In the last 6 months we’ve also brought in 8 contractors to assist us with larger projects. In the second half of 2019 we expect to expand the team by at least one more person, possibly two. After that, who knows. For now we’re happy doing satisfying work and we’re still getting a thrill every time we help a client get significant results in a short period of time, without too much stress or costs.
